My COVID-19 Anti-Anxiety Routine
How I cope with my anxiety during the Coronavirus Pandemic

Stress and anxiety about COVID-19 and its impact can be overwhelming. During the COVID-19 pandemic, you may experience stress, anxiety, fear, sadness, and loneliness. And mental health disorders, including anxiety and depression, can worsen. So, maintaining a regular schedule is very important to your mental health. Here’s how I cope with my anxiety during COVID-19.
Cold Morning Shower (6 am)
Having a cold shower in the morning might sound a wee bit extreme to some of you, but I find it very refreshing, it feels good and is very relaxing. Having a cold shower in the morning boosts my mind, all the laziness just goes away.
Organic Breakfast (7 am)
I Avoid loading up on junk food and refined sugar in the morning. Instead, I make an organic sandwich! It’s basically 2 Slices toasted Wheat bread (brown bread), a freshly sliced Pineapple, Organic Spring Mix, Organic Honey Mustard, and Avocado. At first, trying to stop drinking coffee was hard, but I found that once I did my anxiety improved, so I would advise you to do the same.
ParkRuns/Jogging (9 am)
ParkRuns are definitely becoming popular worldwide, and it’s my new favorite thing. I love ParkRuns because they are very positive, welcoming, and inclusive experiences where I regularly meet a lot of friendly people. ParkRuns are held every Saturday day were I live, So on other days, when there are no ParkRun events, I usually go jogging around my neighborhood to keep fit and prepare for the next ParkRun. I highly recommend ParkRuns, they great for your mental and physical health.
Cleaning (12:00 pm)
Every day at around midday, I make sure to Clean up my home and do laundry. Staying busy during this pandemic is very important to my mental health. It keeps my mind off the negative stuff. After I have Cleaned up every dirty corner of my home, I find it very satisfying to see everything neat and clean.
Yard work (2 pm)
Going outside to chop some grass and clearing out the weeds is heavenly for me. The smell of soil, the sound of birds, and Tree leaves as they are blown by the wind are very calming, it just makes me happy. nothing is more calming than the great outdoors. So switch off that TV, Computer or Smartphone, and get the hell out of your house and do some yard work.
Read a Book (4 pm)
Like most people I know, I was too lazy to read those books with no pictures, only read Comic books in my free time. When I started to read books about other people’s life experiences and novels, it enriched my mind, it was definitely life-changing, I grew up. Reading a lot of books gave me a better understanding of the world.
Connect with friends and family (6 pm)
Staying in touch with loved ones is very important to me. It keeps my spirit up, and I’m less depressed and anxious. If I have a problem I share it with my friends and family. Their words of encouragement are very helpful. Telling funny stories and having a good laugh with family and friends, does a lot of good for my mental health.
Watch a movie or a TV show (8 pm)
Watching an entertaining movie or TV show is always a good way to take my mind off the pandemic, it definitely lowers my anxiety. I watch a lot of Comedy and Animation movies that are funny. Disney Pixar movies, in particular, are always inspiring.
A good night sleep (11 pm)
Every night I make sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep. It’s good for my mental and physical health. I found that if I’m not getting enough sleep, I tend to be more anxious. So, make sure to sleep well.
Having a routine during this pandemic has been really good for my mental health. I not as stressed, anxious, and depressed as I used to be. Focusing on what I love to do instead of Covid-19 made staying at home great!
